Mahavir Swami is the 24th and last Tirthankar of Jain religion. He was born to king Siddartha and queen Trishala in Kundagram, Vaishali ( Bihar). At the age of thirty, Mahavira renounced his family, kingdom and other worldly possessions to obtain eternal peace. His strict asceticism of twelve years gave him the name Mahavira.
